Sarah Hughes
As you would probably expect, I love playing the piano! I also play the flute and would love to learn to play an ocarina – I love the sound of the Baroque recorder. I love to sing in harmony (though no-one would pay to come and listen to me!). I was classically trained and love classical music, but I enjoy a wide variety of musical styles.
I also love teaching (both my parents were school teachers) and I have a genuine interest in working out how each child ticks, especially those with learning difficulties or quirks.
Some random facts about me: I love cats. I enjoy quilting and have a slight obsession with buying fabric. My current quilting project is a Penrose tiling for my son. I try to lead a conservative Christian life with my husband, son and daughter, and regularly play the organ for our congregation. We attend a Medieval Fair every year – one day my family might even get me to go in costume!
(I also hang out my washing with colour coded pegs but don’t tell anyone that!)

I have qualifications in piano performance and education. I take my professional development seriously and regularly attend events to update my knowledge. I am a member of several creative piano teaching online groups.
